The Team - Ms. B
Ms. B is vice president in a high-tech company and heads a
regional division. The industry is going to a tough time,
resulting in job cuts in Ms. B's company. Her management team
is very focused on the downturn, and Ms. B is having trouble
motivating them as well as herself. She feels she has no one
to turn to for guidance. She lacks focus and isn't managing
her time effectively.
Ms. B sought help through RIGHThought, and after the initial
meeting she agreed to start "Coaching
for Performance." The focus was how she motivated her
management team. The coaching relationship developed to a
point where Ms. B could use the bi-weekly session as a sounding
board for ideas and opinions.
As a result Ms. B:
- Has a better understanding of her ability to influence
her management team and has improved team motivation
- Identified key aspects of the job that rekindled her own
motivation.
- Created a new management vision for her division linked
to their strengths
Ms. B is on the final leg of the initial coaching contract
but is considering continuing on a ad-hoc basis because she
needs a sparring partner in everyday work.
